Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions from prescribers and patients about working with Campanella Compounding Pharmacy

Payment & Insurance

We are a self-pay pharmacy. This model allows us to keep administrative costs and prices down. By operating out-of-pocket, we can focus on what matters most: compounding high-quality medications efficiently and affordably.

Upon request, we can include a superbill that you can submit to your healthcare plan. Patients with HSA/FSA accounts may be able to recoup some or all of their costs.

We are a cashless pharmacy and ship most of our orders. Upon receiving your prescription from the doctor, we will text to confirm your shipping address and send a secure payment link. If you choose to pick up or need to change the address, please let us know before confirming payment and completing your order.

You can pay with any major credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card.

Shipping & Delivery

Yes! Shipping is our primary method of dispensing medications. We offer overnight shipping options through FedEx or UPS throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, Marin County, and the East Bay. We are currently looking into same-day services for these locations.

We serve patients and prescribers throughout California. Our local service area includes overnight delivery to the San Francisco Bay Area.

We also ship statewide to Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, and everywhere in between.

We intend to charge $10.95 for overnight shipping in the Greater Bay Area and $10.95 for two-day shipping to Central and Southern California. We will finalize rates as we move closer to opening.

For Prescribers

You can send prescriptions via e-prescription (we're connected to Surescripts), fax, voicemail, or through our prescriber portal. Please use our contact form to get started with our prescriber portal.

Yes. Our pharmacist is available to discuss formulation options, dosing considerations, and therapeutic alternatives. Whether you're new to compounding or looking to optimize an existing protocol, we're happy to collaborate. Contact us or schedule a consultation through the prescriber portal.

We strive to keep most formulary medications in stock and ship them within 1 to 2 business days (please see the prescriber portal for what is included).

Urgent medications (such as APNO, rectal ointments, and pain medications) will be prioritized.

Custom formulations may require an additional day or two in order to create a formula or source ingredients.

For Patients

Getting started is simple. Your prescriber sends the prescription to us, we contact you to arrange payment and shipping, then prepare your medication. You will be notified when your order goes out. If you'd like your current prescriber to work with us, feel free to share our contact information or have them reach out directly.

In most cases, yes. To transfer a prescription, please provide us with your name and date of birth, phone number, the prescription name, the prescription number (if you have it), and the pharmacy's name and phone number. Pharmacy transfers typically take 1–2 business days to complete.

Note that some prescriptions—particularly controlled substances—may require a new prescription from your provider rather than a transfer.

You can request refills preferably through our mobile app (Datascan Mobile RX), by texting, or by leaving a voicemail. We recommend requesting refills 5–7 days before you run out to ensure uninterrupted therapy.
